Hospitality
Ranging from quick service restaurants and wineries to human resources and hotels, my experience in the hospitality industry has been broad and fulfulling. I started working when I first arrived at James Madison University with their special events department, and have been trying to expand my knowledge with other positions since. My major required me to complete 600 hours of hospitality work experience and a 400 hour hospitality internship, leaving me prepared with 1000 hours before graduation. In this section I will highlight some the positions I worked to obtain those hours, and why hospitality is the right field for me.

Food & Beverage
Food and beverage is a crucial part of almost any hospitality business and I was lucky to get my start there. This taught me the ropes of what it is like to work with others under a constrained time frame in an attempt to deliver the best product. Another key aspect is safety, and thanks to the thoroughness of my undergraduate program I am happy to say I am ServSafe certified. These lessons can be applied across the board, and I am happy to have begun my job experience in F&B.

Customer Service
No matter where you work or who your customer may be, the utmost goal of any establishment should be satisfying that client or guest. My guests have been patrons of a restaurant, wine conoisseurs at a vineyard, and even my associates when working in human resources. Hospitality is all about people, and being skilled in how you talk to those you are serving is key at any location. I value my people skills as being one of strongest assets, and look forward to applying them to my customer service in the future.
