If there is one experience at James Madison University that I could choose to relive again, it would definitely be studying abroad. Spending 8 weeks in Salmanca, Spain, and using each weekend to travel to a new Spanish city is educational in a way that I can't even describe. I took 9 credits at the University of Salamanca, and though I learned a lot from these Spanish-only classes the really learning came simply from exploring. From Cantabria and Andalucia to Valencia and Madrid, I got to know the history, culture, and persona of the country of Spain entirely. My Spanish improved tremendously, and being able to function on my own in a country with a language different from my own forced an independence that I will always value. Pictured above are some of my favorite experiences from the trip, and my utmost goal is to return someday to revisit all of Spain's treasured attractions.
